TURN-KEY ELECTRONIC PRODUCT DEVELOPMENT
TAP Engineering provides end-to-end electronic product design development services. We offer complete engineering design capabilities across multiple engineering disciplines. TAP provides requirement analysis, architecture development, mechanical, electrical and software design, as well as validation and verification testing.
01
Electronic Packaging
Our mechanical engineers specialize in the reverse engineering, design, analysis, prototyping, test, and manufacture of low size, weight and power (L-SWAP) electronics. Our expertise and experience ranges from chip-scale solutions using harvested die to custom mixed-signal high density printed circuit boards all the way to complex electromechanical systems.
02
Circuit Design
TAP has a group of talented printed circuit board (PCB) designers with a reputation for speed and quality. Our designers are experts in high density, high speed, digital and RF PCB layouts where signal integrity and electrical performance are critical.
03
RF Design
Whether you’re sending small amounts of data to an access point or streaming high speed data to a base location over a proprietary link, our team can help. We work with our customers to determine RF link requirements, understand environmental factors that may affect system performance, and create feasibility models to determine required link performance. We can take your rough concepts to a final product, we can engage with your team on the wireless portions of a project, or we can consult on a particular aspect of an RF circuit or antenna.
04
Manufacturing
TAP leverages a network of trusted, domestic, commercial manufacturing partners (i.e. PCB Fabrication/Assembly, Metal Fabrication, Plastics Molding, etc.) to build our designs. By working with our suppliers to develop designs that fit into their workflow, our customers are able take advantage of the technological and quality/yield benefits associated with volume manufacturing while avoiding long, custom manufacturing lead-times. TAP performs trusted, niche manufacturing, last-mile assembly, programming, and test in-house.
05
Embedded Development
No, TAP hasn’t gone “soft”. We’re still a hardware company. But, providing end-to-end solutions means providing software and firmware support too. Our engineers are experienced with a variety of 8/16/32/64-bit embedded processors and have developed code for real-time processing, network protocol stacks, and device drivers. Our engineers are also experienced with firmware development for Field Programmable Gate Array (FPGA) devices. Our team has designed, developed and reverse engineered embedded platforms ranging from subsystems to full custom designs.
